I am a Fellow of HIMSS (FHIMSS)

I just got back from the 3rd HL7 Symposium in Seoul, South Korea but this blog entry isn’t about the event, its about me being made a Fellow of HIMSS (FHIMSS) 🙂

Congratulations!  The Board of Directors of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society has approved your application for advancement to Fellow Member status on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. You have earned, and are entitled to add, the designation FHIMSS (Fellow of HIMSS) following your name.  This designation indicates your professional status and advancement within your professional society.

This honor is bestowed in recognition of your service, professional participation, job experience, publications, and presentations.  It is our hope that you will continue to serve your society and your profession with the same spirit, enthusiasm, and success as you have in the past.

I received the message above via email this morning (I landed in Singapore yesterday night) and needless to say, I am quite delighted 🙂 While I am not sure if I am the first FHIMSS in Asia, I am pretty sure I am the first FHIMSS in Singapore, if not ASEAN (I’ve sent an email query to check, lets wait and see).

My next post will be an update on the 3rd HL7 Symposium in Seoul, South Korea so stay tune.

Note: This is my second Fellow Status for health informatics / digital health (or any other synonym you like), my first Fellow Status is with the Australasia College of Health Informatics
