To make a security point, hackers tweak an implantable pacemaker

This makes a nice sequel to one of my previous post – Heart device hack could be a shocker.

With enough time, energy and expertise, a pacemaker can be hacked, that’s right, I am talking about the importance of IT security in Medical Informatics (applied in a Biomedical Engineering setting).

The entire article is quite long and I strongly suggest all biomedical engineers with an interest in Medical informatics to read it here.

In addition, download this whitepaper A Brief Introduction to Medical Informatics (for Biomedical Engineers) for an explanation on why Medical Informatics are important to Biomedical Engineers.

Enjoy 🙂
