Ramblings: Social-technical evolution – Healthcare Informatics

The adoption of Information Technology in the world of Healthcare has enable many changes to the extend to what I’d like to term it as “social-technical evolution”.

To quote the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Canada (which I have no affiliation)

  • Science Asks Why, Engineering Asks Why Not and
  • Technology Changes Everything

The above two slogans sums up exactly the role and effect of effective implementation of Healthcare Informatics and bear in mind, the directions of the results can run in either directions – both good and bad.

So what is the general directions that Healthcare Informatics?

In my humble opinion, its a bumpy journey but we are making good progress, it can only get better.
